So Haley started preschool this past Tuesday! I can't believe she's such a big girl now! Overall, the first day went well...I think I probably cried dropping her off more than she did! Her real teacher was out sick so I didn't get to meet her, but the lady subbing for her was really nice and Haley clung to her all day. She wouldn't nap at all, which didn't surprise me...sleeping on a mat on the floor, next to a bunch of other kids would be quite an adjustment when you're used to sleeping in your own bed, in the dark, with a noise machine. But, hopefully she'll get better at it. She was exhausted when we picked her up but seemed like she'd had a lot of fun. She was asleep in the car on the way home before we even got a few blocks down from the school. Poor baby! I think she'll really love going to school 2 days a week. It will give her something to look forward to with new friends to play with and it will give Daddy time to work while I'm at work instead of having to watch her all day. Here are some pics of her big day!

Haley videos
Here are some recent videos of Haley. The first one was our attempt to catch her saying some of the many words she knows. Excuse the bed head, she had just woken up as you can tell by her pj's! The second one is us trying to catch her reaction to one of her new Christmas books that plays music. For some reason, she hated it when she first got it...she would cry every time we'd open it and the music would play. She'd also do the same thing whenever I'd sing to her in a high pitched voice...strange kid! Luckily, I spared you all from that footage! And the last one is her dancing with Frosty the Snowman. It never gets old watching a toddler dance! I think she gets her moves from her Daddy!
Christmas!
Ok, so it's been quite a while since I've posted....hopefully my postings will be a little more frequent now cause Mommy got a new lap top for Christmas! Yay! Now I can actually use a lap top like it's supposed to be used...portable and in your lap unlike my last one! The wireless internet on my old one didn't work and it sounded like it was about to take off like a rocketship every time I started it up or moved it. SOOO...that about sums up my exciting Christmas gifts. Oh, and a handheld Dyson vacuum that I bet none of you even knew existed...I think I teared up a bit when I opened that one. LOVE IT!
Anyway, we all had a great Christmas! We spread out the fun over about week by visiting my family in Shreveport the weekend before Christmas and then having Todd's mom and dad, aunt, uncle, and cousins and my dad's side of the family all over to our house on Christmas day. Ofcourse the highlight of the whole holidays for me was just watching Haley open presents and her reaction to everything. She is at that priceless age where she absolutely loves every gift from the box something came in to her first baby doll. She wanted to stop and play with everything that she opened so we had to coax her away to get her to open the next present. I cherish this time in her life because I know it won't be long before she's chunking gifts over her head looking for the next one without even taking time to say "thank you". We didn't do a big "to do" about Santa gifts this year, because I don't think she really got it. I actually ended up putting gifts out that she had gotten for her first B-Day that I had left in the boxes in her closet instead of buying loads of new toys that she didn't need! (Shhhh, don't tell!) I'm sure that will be the last time we'll get away with that! ;) I've posted a few pics below. We didn't get many that were that great cause she is so fast these days that I couldn't get her to hold still with a gift long enough to take a picture! But, you get the idea!
Oh, and baby #2 was about 20 weeks at this point...can't forget about him! :)

So Many Milestones!
There's SO much to catch up on since my last post since it seems like every day Haley is doing something new and exciting! She's a little over 10 months old now and I can't believe the 1 year party planning has already begun! We've (or I guess really I since Todd doesn't get much say in important things like B-Day party planning!) have decided to go with a ladybug theme. It's a chance to get a little pink in things without being overly princessy and girly! The official day for that is going to be on her actual B-Day, Saturday September 25th. In the meantime, she's really trying to be as a big of a girl as she can be before the big B-Day gets here! She started officially crawling around 9 months. Shortly after that, we all took a long road trip to Florida to visit Todd's sister Tammi and her husband. During that trip, Haley's bottom 2 teeth finally pushed through and shortly after we got back from the trip she started pulling up on things and walking while holding on. All of that happened within a one month span! All that time of waiting for her to crawl and waiting for those teeth to show up and they all finally happened at once! Now, I just know it's going to be any day that she's going to be taking those first steps! She grows up too fast!
Another first that we've had recently is Haley's first swim class! We already know that she loves to swim. She'll stay in the water for hours and never get tired of it. But, I was worried about her going to another class and having a repeat of what used to happen in Kindermusik...the blank stare and the crying at every activity that the instructor says that "every kid just loves!" To my surprise, she did so good though and had so much fun! She was the youngest kid there, so they were having them do some things that she could not quite do yet. But, by the end of the class I had her pulling herself up out of the pool and jumping back in to me! She even went completely under water several times and loved it! Now, I've also signed her up for gymboree classes that meet once a week as well. We went to our first class there today and she loved that too. I think now that she's getting more mobile she will really love having all the fun obstacles in the gym and the other kids to play with.
I'm posting a few recent pics and a couple of videos of her recent "milestones". One of the videos shows Haley doing one of new favorite things....standing up on the couch and falling backwards! She'll do that over and over (assuming someone's there to catch her!) and just crack up laughing. It's so funny!

9 months old!
Haley is 9 months old and getting to be such a big girl! She's still just days away from crawling...she rocks back and forth and goes backwards but hasn't quite gotten down going forward yet. But, she still manages to get around pretty good! I'm just enjoying this somewhat immobile time because I know once she starts crawling or walking I will have no free time!
Her personality just continues to develop and get cuter and cuter everyday. (I'm sure I'm the first parent to ever say that!) She cracks up laughing at the tiniest little things, especially if her Daddy is doing it! The funny thing is though, that it's like pulling teeth to get her to laugh out in public. She's such a little observer that she will just stare a hole through someone new before she'll smile. I've started taking her to Kindermusik once a week and while we have lots of fun, you would think she's being tortured because she just stares at everyone the whole time without even cracking a grin. I know she must be just taking everything in and concentrating so hard. I guess she's just going to be a very cautious little girl, which is a good thing!
She's also greatly increased her food repertoir after her 9 month pedi appointmet! He gave me the go-ahead on most foods including more finger foods. So, since I'm making all of her baby food, I've had a blast coming up with interesting "baby" dishes that she can eat...chicken pot pie, eggplant parmesian, greek yogurt with fruit, just to name a few! She is definitely going to be well-rounded in the food department! Now if we can ever get some teeth to finally come in, she'll be all set!
Here are some new pics of her and a couple of videos of her laughing. Daddy just got a nice, new camera for father's day so I suspect we'll be taking a lot more pictures (if that's even possible!).
